If you like that, you may also dig the SD9M - 'Sonic Distortion, modified'.
http://www.ibanez.com/products/u_effect_pa...amp;effect_id=9 More gain than a TS and with both a gain and mids boost switch. I wouldn't classify it as a 'metal' pedal, especially not modern metal but definitely hard rock ala 80s and 90s. Also, a lot of the fusion guys favor SD9s (Scott Henderson, Mike Landau). *Maxon also still has an SD9 that they make in Japan if that matters to you (the Ibanez is Chinese). -------------------- - Ken Lasaine

Very interesting thread. I don't have too many experience with these pedals so it's cool to have more info about the slight differences between the models. Talking about overdrives, I'm now anxious waiting for mine: Check it HERE.

I really liked it on youtube (nice alternative to something like a ds1) when that one was introduced but never had a chance to demo it. The distributor brings some occasionally but they're sold immediatly here. That or maybe a RAT would fit nicely between a green OD and my metal pedal but I want to focus on the current range of my tones first. With so many variations of the same pedal, its already complicated enough for me Very interesting thread. I'm watching that topic By the way as you work with joyo, their green OD also has many users despite the price there are who prefers it to the original. |

Interesting!
The only tube screamer I have experience with is the TS-9. |
