Hey Guys/Girls,

Since Muris seems to be kinda inactive, I wondered if any of you guys could give some feedback on my take of his lesson in the style of Mark Knopfler! It's this lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...r-style-lesson/

thanks!

There are some little mistakes in place or two, and few notes weren't ringing fully, but for me the take is very good. Don't know how could You achieve bit spicier tone, like Muris - maybe just a little bit more gain, would do? I have a feel that if I would have Your tone, and use the tone knob of my EMG's I would have something like Muris's one:P

This is very very good, I think there are some minor mistakes but over all very good.

Well done! I really like the tone you have on this take. I actually prefer your clean tone to Muris' overdriven tone. I think it sounds more "Knopfler-esque"!

I would go for a bit creamier tone. I agree with Bear Rose partially... Yes it is nice when it is played clean, but there is a bit more treble in your playing than Knopfler uses... I'd either add some more bass in EQ, a tiny hint of reverb, and also roll the gain up a TINY bit to get a slightly crunchy sound, but not much! The playing was good, some phrases weren't 100% clean, but well done smile.gif

I thought it was pretty good. On a couple of fast spots the rhythm was not spot on (I think), but that is difficult to do, which is why guys like Knopfler make the big bucks. You can get it. Oh, tone is nice, sounds like his to me.

edit: I first listened to your original cut. I like the first better, you rhythm seemed more "on" on the first cut. People seem to talk about tone or this or that, but really, rhythm matters like a zillion times more than any of that. You can do about just anything with tone and sound good, if the rhythm is there. Visa-versa does not carry.
