I just got done scalloping my guitar neck, 21-24.
Piece of cake. It was really easy. Bought two different sized round files and some fine sand paper.
Only problem is that one of the inlays (dot) was really shallow. it disappeared in the process. I drilled and installed a new dot I carved from a piece of white plastic I had laying around. Cant even tell I made the dot. So now I have a "jemesk" neck and i really like it.
So do you find bending and vibrato easier there? I find the upper frets a bit trickier to bend at times so i may give this a shot...
Nice job dude..
last four frets for me on any guitar is a must.
So hard to get up there and get a perfect grip on the string to do a bend, let alone vibrato. Makes things much easier, and it takes like 20 min.
No one is even going to reply on my kick ass dot replacement (21 st fret)...thats the part I am most proud of.....lol
bending on the scallops is easier.
cool!
i might do this to my project guitar once the neck arrives.
i noticed you have a load of different types of screws in your neck pickup, is that for a reason? i read somewhere that different shaped screws change your tone.
Wow nice! The inlay came out perfect. I didn't even realize you did that until I read it.
Dot looks natural hehhe I can't notice any difference..Great job here
