Gabriel, you are no doubt my favorite guitar player. I could babble on for hours how good i think you are, every lesson of yours are made by HIGH quality, some - worldclass.
I remember one time when i was browsing this site, looking for some cool lesson and found your 'Zakk wylde' lesson, and boy - what a lesson. I've never heard of someone play guitar that good, so melodic but yet, so powerful. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...e-style-lesson/ Well, i am just curious on how you approach your guitar playing, like: (at age of 11 i started to play a lot of Nirvanas song. Although when i grew older, perhaps 15 - 16 I decided to put the guitar on the next level, thats when i started to practice scales. I practiced scales around 5 hours a day.) Stuff like that. Anyway, would appreciate an answer, just wanna say thank you for everything you've done, Gmc would be nothing without you. |

Hi Martin! Thank you for the kind words about my playing and my lessons! I really appreciate it.
About my guitar approach... I started to play the guitar at the age of 11 (1993). I was a GNR fan and I used to watch a video of one of his shows every day after school. When I saw Slash I decided to play guitar so my dad bought me a cheap electric guitar to start to play. I borrowed some songbooks from my friends (only with chords and lyrics) of bands like Ramones, Nirvana, Metallica, Gun's and Roses, Rolling Stones. I remember me playing the whole day that stuff over the records. Then I took some private clases with a blues guitar instructor. He taught me the pentatonic scale and it opened my mind. It made meplay all the day over the same music (Ramones, GNR, Nirvana, Rolling Stones) but now improvising. By this time (1995) I became a metal fan so I learn a lot of that stuff.. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween, then when I leant a lot of that music I was starting to feel bored when I discovered Yngwie Malmsteen (1997) I found a neoclassical guitar teacher and I learnt lots of Yngwie's, Vinnie Moore, McAlpine etc songs. When I was starting to get "bored" of neoclassical I discovered Dream Theater (1999). Once again I decided to learn and study DT and Petrucci style... this time by my own. Ufff... this is too long... I can continue the story later if you want but you have a great begining here. gab.- -------------------- My lessons

Look at the topic for my guitar... Finished Guitar Build Gear: Homemade strat (You still need to look at its topic!) Squier strat (probably going to get rid of it and get another guitar instead) :) Line 6 spider amp (not actually used for anything, just acts as a speaker) Digitech Gnx2 (kind of old, but cheap, and sounds amazing!) |
