What's up guys...

just started working again, got a pay check in bound - need a new axe...

Was thinking this:

Anyone have any experience with ESP or this particular guitar?

Seems like a decent price for EMG 81/85's with a floyd rose and a quilted top...

A great guitar for the metal

It does not say original floyd rose and that might be the reason for the good price; you'll have nothing but trouble with licensed tremolo's so if you find out it has an original flöoyd rose then go for it, if not better stay away or buy the more expensive version with a real floyd.

I think my friend had a pretty similar one back in the day, and it was alright - had a very metal feel (the genre) to it, without a doubt. Great low action, and a Floyd Rose is a must have in my opinion.

I've never been a great fan of EMGs, but depending on what genre you play, I'd say they'll do nicely.

True, original floyd rose systems is better, however, the unoriginal ones...can be good too, though most cases prove the opposite. If you don't use it, you can just block it - but if it's for whammy bar stuff, it's not a safe bet, but a bet at least that could turn out alright - I know mine has.

So the Licensed floyd is that much different than the original?
I've never owned a guitar with FR but really desire one for dive bombs and artifical harmonics..

The original is the only way to go?

Some licensed are ok but they are just cheaper than the original and can not handle the extreme abuse of divebombing and stuff like the high quality ones. To make it short: It may detune easier than an original and might break earlier. Kahler, Ibanez Edge (the expensive ones) and Floyd Rose are the only reliable ones I played...

I'd say get original Floyd Rose, don't bother with a licenced one. Save some money and you will have much much quality mechanism that will not detune

I have had this guitar for about a month now. I have had absolutely no problems with it. I don't use the trem all that much though but I haven't had any problems with it going out of tune. The licensed floyd rose bridge in this one is definitely not one of the cheaper versions and from my experience, it just fine. Its a very nice guitar and very easy to play and its EMG pickups are great. I picked it up more on a whim and as a companion to the MH400NT (no tremelo) I have had for a couple of years. If you don't need a trem - consider the MH400NT (the pictures are very deceiving concerning its colour).

These two guitars are easily in the highest quality brackets for their price range and play easily as well as most guitars twice as expensive.

I think that blue mh-400 is an absolutely beautiful guitar. This is one of those guitars that offers an awful lot for the money. I am partial to ESPs and Jacksons because of their souped-up strat-type configuration...it just screams shred. Your choice is a good one in my opinion.

I have the ESP mh-1000 and love it.. emg 81 / 85 combo is the only way to go in my books... youll love it

heres my guitar, very similar to that one

Yeah the MH 1000 has the ORIGINAL Floyd Rose - I beleive that's the axe I'm going to go with.

Posted by: Caelumamittendum Jul 11 2008, 02:11 PM

Right, it was the MH-1000 my friend had. Awesome guitar!

You won't be disappointed. The MH-400 and MH-1000 are identical guitars with the only differences being the Floyd Rose bridge versus the licenced floyd rose bridge and about $300.
