GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Jackson Rr24 Problem!

Posted by: Gabbez Apr 16 2009, 10:05 PM

Hi
I got my Jackson rr24 some weeks ago and i have a problem with it. When i play on some frets it starts ringing in the FR bridge. I recorded the noise so you can hear it.

Did you check for loose screws/parts?

Yeah, it's probably the screw that holds the trem bar-slot tight...

I'm not an expert with FR's but that sounds like it's hitting some kind of resonant pitch in the springs! I may well be proved wrong by someone!!!

I think you may be right about the tremolo bar.

Ok i found the problem. One of the springs does the noise. When the sounds come i just put my finger on the first spring and then it stops. Do i need to get a new spring there or can i just use 3?

Put a ruber band over the three strings, it will kill the noise.

Do it like herman li in this vid at 2.55

If that doesn't work then get some 3/16" Rubber Tubing and slip it inside the springs!! I knew we'd had a thread about Spring Noise before!!!
You can find it http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=25470 with a Vid on how to do it!!! Hope this helps!!!
