Lately ive been planning on expanding my recording geer with some good software.
At the moment i use Ableton Live 6 Lite. Its one i got free with my Line6 Toneport.
Its great but the lite version only supports symultanious tracks and the times come where i wanna record a couple riffs with vocals, bass and drums too smile.gif

Im looking for something that got good features as well (a drum machine for example).
Any suggestions?
Not somethign too expensive plz tongue.gif

Recording gear : Line6 Toneport UX2 and Line6 POD XT Live.

So you want the best, but it has to be cheap ?? wink.gif

I would say Cubase is the best before you start going for professional stuff like ProTools which needs special hardware. Cubase is capable of extremely professional results, and is in no sense a compromise, but it starts at $400 and you will probably end up spending more on effects and instruments etc. There are several other good DAWs on the market, but I haven't used any of them and don't know prices.

You can still get hold of Cubase SE3 which is a very capable cutdown version of Cubase and might be just what you are looking for - it has most of the important features. The main limitation is that it is limited to 48 audio tracks, which probably won't be a limiting factor for a while wink.gif It costs $150.

Hey andrew thgought id hear from you on this topic since you do a lotta recording biggrin.gif
lol i guess the part where i said the best recordign software and the low price are quite contradicting.
I guess what i meant was the best value for money smile.gif

I saw you post on another thread about cubase too. And checked it out and well it seemed quite pricey. The version i saw was around $799 i think.

Im gonna check out the SE3 though. The price seems very reasonable. 48 tracks should quite about do at this point tongue.gif. Thanks for the suggestion andrew!

Helped me out once again smile.gif
If anyone got any other softwares worth checking out, please post here.

No problem smile.gif $799 gets you the top of the line Cubase version 4, there is also version 4 Studio which is about $400, SE3 is based on version 3 and is the "Lite" version. I am still using Cubase 3 and nowhere near its limits, so don't be put off because it isn't the latest version. At that price it is a great buy.

I looked into it the last couple days.. and it definitely seems worth the price.
I considered upgreading my Ableton Lite to the full version which would cost $399.
ive been managing using just 4 tracks for a while now.. 48 tracks would probably feel like heaven!
Gonna look into it more.

Any other suggestions guys?
