GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Who Is The Best Djent Guitarist?
Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi Jul 5 2012, 07:49 PM
Hi guys! I have listened to some bands that are considered Djent like Periphery and Meshuggah but I am not very into this style and when I found Cosmin's new collab (Check it http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=45066&st=0&gopid=593800&#entry593800), I wondered which are the top guitar players that play this style...
Could you please post names and youtube links here?

I'm enjoying Corelia's guitar work a lot! His solos are very fresh.

The best? Why Stevie Ray Vaughan of course!
...What?
Really though, the first time I heard the "Djenty" sound that Djent is known for, it reminded me of a lower pitched version of SRV's Stratocaster.
Check it out.

ahh yeah, I know these guys, they are so technical. I never enjoyed too much their songs but I'm impressed of their technique.

There's a song from Animals as Leaders called the Song of Solomon - I like it!
I love the chords in the beginning!

Yes! That is what the "djent" sound is supposed be, right?

His technique is killer, and yes, the first chords are very enjoyable. It's a nice harmony.

I just discovered this guy by accident the other week! I've never heard anything quite like it. This is the video I saw from the same EMG session. Have you guys noticed his picking thumb?!
