GMC Forum _ Introduce Yourself ! _ Hello From England

Posted by: Icarus Nov 27 2008, 10:23 AM

Hi

My name is Graham 57 years old and on a whim I decided to learn to play guitar. Being and ageing hippy my musical taste are 60s and 70s based i.e Johnny Winter, Cream, Joni Mitchell, Grateful Dead, Lynyrd Skynyrd S.R.V etc. Although Snow patrol are great to listen too.

The guitar I have bought is a 1997 American Standard Plus Stratocaster and I (or Father Christmas is going to get me) am going to buy a Peavey Vypyr 30 practice amp. If any one can suggest a better option let me know.

Regards All

Graham

Old rockers never die, they just smell as if they have.

Welcome aboard,

Graham, I must Warn you about two things!. ohmy.gif

First, make sure that you leave time in your schedule for your loved ones. wink.gif laugh.gif Reason is there are so many great lesson here on this web site that it's very difficult not to always have something new to be working on.

Secondly, Stay well away from the forums. If not you will soon find yourself asking questions but because of all the great responses all your practice time will be shortened dramatically. laugh.gif

I'm kidding of course because I'm a huge new fan of this site and I'm a old rocker but hopefully I don't smell like one!!! blink.gif

Let me know if you want other amp suggestions.

Cheers,
tommyboy
