> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: A Day To Remember Style by Gabriel Leopardi

Today I got some new Picks by Gravity (gravitypicks.com) I ordered the other day and I just decided to give this lesson a go with the 'Edge Standard'-Version :-)

Hi mate! I'm checking the picks at the website and they look very good! smile.gif I can notice that you are having a good result with them, your playing is tight except when you play 16th palm muted notes. You have timing issues when these parts come so you should isolate the faster sections and work on them until you feel comfortable with the rhythm.

Keep on the hard work! wink.gif

hey mate!

Glad to see you back into the REC zone smile.gif So, Gabi is right about the intro and outro riff - I think it would be a good thing to isolate the riff and slow it down a bit - focus on playing each note as clean as possible, having the right groove and timing. Once you nail it perfectly at the slow speed, try to raise it gradually until you can play the riff with the previously mentioned qualities at the original speed. Nothing unusual, but it's good to refresh things wink.gif

Keep rocking!

Cosmin

Hi man, the intro / outro riff is giving you some issues. It's just a case of timing. Sometimes you're in front, sometimes behind.. so it's not a speed issue of course, just timing.

The only way to tackle it is with more repetition but at some slower speeds (boring answer !) wink.gif

Also make sure you get that last note on the E string sounding clear at 0:23. It can sound as if it's snatched away too quickly.
