Spitfire is likely the most famous company making orchestral and experimental samples, specially to be used for tv, film etc. . If you want to make orchestral music itb, they offersome of the best samples out there.
They released a BBC symphony library sometime ago; very expensive, takes almost a harddisk space alone and not to mention the needed resources to use it in full potential.
Today they released discovery
If you fill a survey its free, comes with a 200mb download. But its not just a freeware, its a sketching tool. Meaning for example, you can make music with a small laptop with it then when the project is opened in the main computer it will adapt and use the samples of the BBC orchestra.
Its really cool cause because orchestral libraries take so much resource many can't make music with them on the fly, they invest (yeah, buy samples that aren't mean't to be heard) in lesser tool to be able to compose without restrictions.
I filled the survey but cause of a lot of interest it says might take up to 14 days for me to get a download link. Now I wait...

I use Spitfire Labs (Winter Tune VIII), Epic Brass&Woodwinds, Epic Strings - amazing stuff.
