I'm going to buy a multieffect for guitar but I don't know what model to go for any tip? No more then 300$

I think that Zoom or Boss multifx would be ok for home practice. I had a bad experience with digitech.
I preffer individual Boss pedals or line 6 products for stage. gabriel.- -------------------- My lessons

My first effect ever was Digitech RP100 - it was around 120$ and i was extremely satisfied with it for home playing. Later when i started playing in a band i realised disadvantages of multieffects so it all depends on what you plan to use it for.

First of all if it's like Zoom 505 or Digitech RP series - you'll get in trouble scrolling through presets if you want to make more than 2 presets for each song. Second thing is that those "middle class" effects sound like crap when you turn you amp louder. That's why those cheap effects are for practice and home playing only.
When i was first told about disadvantages i didn't thought it will be that bad. Once i started playing with band and played 2 gigs i went crazy about how bad it was scrolling through effects in the middle of the song. Also - the moment you press the pedal to switch preset you have that 1 second of broken signal - thats too bad! But as i said - it depends on what you plan to use it for and what effects are you buying. So before buying anything make sure it's a useful thingy!

I've used several differenct multi-effects over the years (zoom, alesis, Line6) - whether or not you are happy with the sound depends on what you are trying to achieve, and like everything else, they vary in quality and you generally get what you pay for. Of all of them I like the PodXT the best in sound quality terms, and I didn't get the broken signal effect Pavel is talking about in the effects I used, but then I paid for good ones. Another absolute essential is that whatever you use, as a lead guitarist for a multi effect you will need a footswitch, and a fair amount of preparation setting up patches for your various songs. Then when playing live you can smoothly and easily switch between them. Hey everyone, I have been taking guitar lessons over the past year but have seen little to no progress from my weekly one hour session with my instructor (I think he is more interested in getting his carrier started than teaching others-although that's what he's getting paid to do). Of course a lot has to do with the fact that I have to work 10-12 hours a day, which leaves me with very little personal time. And on topic now, I am also very much interested in buying a multi effects pedal and budgetwise my attention is focused on either the Digitech RP250 or the Zoom GU2.1U. Both are well constructed and full of lots of sounds to mess with, however I have to give extra points to the RP250 since I can plug it in to my computer and edit or store presets in a much easier way. After looking for reviews of these products over the internet, I found at the following link http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/gui...p250/index.html that one of the users was running the RP250 through a Line 6 amp and got a really bad sound. He later found out that Line 6 amps do not work well with multi effects pedals. Since I own a Line 6 Spider III 30Watt amp, I would really appreciate it if someone could actually tell me if this is the case. I will try to get in touch with Line 6 on this matter but I am guessing that they will probably try to persuade me into buying one of their Pod series products.

And by the way my current setup is as follows: Guitar: Yamaha ERG-121 (in the process of getting an IBANEZ RG350DX) Amp: Line 6 Spider III 30 Watt, Marshall MS-2C practice amp, Laney 10 Watt amp Overdrive pedal:DOD YJM308 Overdrive pedal.
