Hi Caplon!! Welcome to your Gab's Army thread!!

Could you please tell me a bit about you, your musical tastes, influences, strengths and weaknesses? I would need some videos of you playing rhythm and solo guitar, so please post your best material here. If you have some music or ideas of your own, also post them here. Also let me know how you think that I can help you and what are your expectations for our job. You can check the other Army's thread to discover the different modalities of this project.

The principles of our Army are:

+ Improve your technique
+ Make music and solos
+ Have fun
+ Destroy the enemy (hahaha not realy just kidding... )

Hello!

I listen to all kind of rock. I think my favorite bands might be Poison and ACDC because they've made so many good songs I really like, I like the style of Eddie van halen very much too, Scorpions, Motley crue, Joe Satriani, Neil zaza. I believe all these have a great influence on me. I am not so familiar with what all the techniques are called, but I think I struggle with speed and position, I have no problems with hammer-ons where pull-offs feel awkward to me for example especially when I have to do it fast.
I'd like to upload some videos of me playing for some feedback. Does it require any kind of proper equipment and what software should I use for recording?

Hi mate! You need a camera, an audio interface and a multitrack software like Reaper, Cubase, Sonar, where you can import the backing track and record yourself playing over it. Besides that you will need any editing software like Vegas where you can mix toghether audio and video.
That would be the perfect situation, for this course and rec takes, you could avoid the multitrack and just use the audio that the camera captures. In this case you can only use the video software, or just upload the videos from the camera without any edition...

There are paid software and free software, I know that Reaper has a free demo that can be used for this, however I don't know any free video editor, you could start a thread at the forum to ask if anybody knows one.

Let me know if this is clear, and if you have more questions! wink.gif
