I've been fiddling around with making noises and stuff and yes, you guessed it, it's time to put out another album. 'King of Babylon' is its name.
Agent Scully is very much looking forward to it
Does it follow on from Pantheon? No, it sounds nothing like its predecessor. It's got more in common with the '....Satan' album. I really went for a vintage, late 70's sort of vibe on this album, generating some old school guitar tones which required me to approach my playing a bit differently.
It'll be out sometime soon, either preceded or succeeded by a 'hit single'

I wouldn't dream of it!
Whether the reality matches my intention.. well, that's up to you guys to decide... but I was definitely aiming for the feel of an instrumental, mythology inspired, progressive metal album recorded in the 70's
I was kinda marrying the In Trance era of Scorpions with recent Opeth with... me! Rhythm is a big part of this album

I think some people may hate it but we'll see. I had fun doing it so I'm happy!

Well people have let me get away with inserting a trance track on Barbarian, dedicating an album to the Morning Star... it could happen

I can't tell if the grif likes it or not, or does it matter, or would that be considered "turmping it", now I am confused
Nice artwork Ben , looking forward to it

Haha, all I can say is turn it up nice and loud and that lovely hifi system of yours!
One thing I wish is that I could see a vinyl version of this and the 'Satan' album. Imagine how cool the art would look on that

YES! I have had the exact same thought! The album art and liner notes would be a blank canvas for pagan-y goodness, Imagine how cool it would sound as well
'Satan' , the new album or an an EP anything would be amazing to have on vinyl and a lesser cool extent CD but 180g vinyl is the gentleman's media of choice
you should totally crowd fund a vinyl project. I remember you saying you weren't too keen on that malarkey but it's essentially just a big preorder system

I hardly wait to hear what you prepared for us this time
Your albums '....Satan' and Pantheon were absolutely amazing!!!
When you say "It'll be out sometime soon" this can be today or tomorrow or today or maybe today or what you say about today?
After you come up with brilliant songs like Blues for Lucifer, Silos of Doom (I'm still in love with this song), Deus et Satanas, The Bringer of Light, I can not sleep until I will not hear something from your new album. I'm more than curious so, don't be evil and pleeease give us a song or a small fragment from a song
Hehe I hope to have something soon.. possibly the very end of this month or very early next month.
I'm so glad you still love 'Silos..' so much!

Great news Ben!
Your "album making" tempo is Flash alike I have a proposition for another album..."Higgy with the Wiggy". I imagine you playing Dweezil's (Zappa) signature amp...the Wiggy. It looks...lovely...like an old, broken radio

The album sounds truly killer!!! Awesome compositions, tone and playing. After two hours of listening I decided that Strategos, King of Babylon and Enemy of Rome are definitely my favorite songs
As I said for many times, this year you came up with brilliant songs. Huuuuge congrats Ben!!!!! Now it's time to push again the play button

dude! Really impressed how much of a different vibe you have got going on here. That cant be easy.
only been through it a couple of times so far but the long and trecherous rd jumped right out at me that's some track right there!
Im really digging the rhythm tracks as well, like in Strategos and Auguries, those riffs under the lead are fantastic. I thought Auguries had a real Rush and Bonamassa vibe to it and it flows really well into Strategos.
Psychopatheist - best song title ever
awesome stuff. you really deserve some proper exposure and success for this stuff.

Thanks, my friend! Yes I really wanted to give space to the riffs on this album, of which I was surprised how many there were
I wrote the Long and Treacherous Road, got to the end and thought.. I'm not sure this needs anything else on it!
I also love that title, I feel very un-Britishly pleased with myself for thinking it up
