Hello Laurent,
I go through this a lot, it's tough but don't beat yourself up about it. Have a little guitar holiday, you will find it calling you back in a short while. Maybe you're trying too hard, expecting too much or doing too much. I can only really point you to this thread and hope it helps you. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...showtopic=59080 Cheers buddy. You're heart will lead you. -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Hi all i'm a bit confused, i lake of motivation, i need new exercices, new orientation.... feel like turning around like a hamster...... Cheers Laurent New Orientation. Excellent choice of words! Forget exercises or lessons for a minute. Find something musically/guitaristically different from what you normally do. Something that you like but something that you never thought you'd want to learn. There has to be something. And figure out maybe just a tiny piece of it (doesn't even have to be guitar). This 'task' is usually good for getting you out of your own head. Also, taking a break can be helpful but as jstcrsn mentions, you gotta get back to it at some point. My method is to get back to it by not exactly getting back to "it". -------------------- - Ken Lasaine

Hi Laurent,
This is something that most of us experiment at any time of our guitar journey. In my case, there are different things that can make me get back to motivation. These are some of the most effective: - Travelling. I usually feel inspired and motivated after knowing new places, and staying for some days out from home. - Getting back to those musicians and artists that inspire me the most. In my case, I just have to watch some Steve Vai's interviews or speechs, or watch a cool live show from one of my favorite bands and all the motivation gets back. - Reading. I love going to an open air place and read a book. - Giving my guitar practice a rest and dedicate some time to planning my next goals as musician. - Playing and doing collaborations with other musicians. This happens at GMC a lot, but it can also be done in the real life. So those are just a few of the things that help me to keep motivating. If you feel that you also need to re-plan your guitar sessions in order to find them more motivated. I would start by doing some kind of balance of what you've done, the results you've got, and write down new goals, ideas, songs to learn, styles to master, and everything that you'd love doing. Then, you can build the plan in order to achieve it, and off course, we can help you here. -------------------- My lessons
