Hey e-friends,

I've just uploaded a new video to my YouTube channel. My camera is being repared so I had to borrow a camera with an unusual lens.

Anyway, most of all, I'd like to know your opinion on the demo and the pickups.

I've used a profiled JCM800 and a Vox AC30. I've also used a Protone Pedals Merrow Overdrive on the Vox AC30 Rhythm tone and a Ogre Tubeholic on the lead guitar.
If you have any question on the pickups, let me know! I personally found they were very good but just not the ideal tone I'm looking for. It's kind of impossible to describe a subjective opinion of a sound through words but I thought it lacked power. Now if i could explain you what I mean with "power"... All I can tell you is that it doesn't mean I'd like more output. Whenever I have some spare money, I'll try another set of BKP's. For now, these will do just fine!

Anyway, I like to use a very warm tone on leads so my lead tone should sound warm even though I've used the bridge pickup 80% of the time on this demo.

Love the look and sound of your guitar. I'm going to have to go and look at more Hellraisers, the name always put me off checking them out.

I just went and looked and was reminded of what put me off, the bridge and string through body combination, but with the locking trem the problem isn't there!

Never played them (actually never tried a BR pickup yet). Signature PU's rely on the artists setup heavily and I don't know much about Misha.

Yeah please do describe smile.gif maybe it simply needs something like setting them up away from strings?

Congrats and top quality vid smile.gif Great playing too!!!

Some Quick Critique:
*More of a "Playthrough" than a demo since there's not really a section just showcasing the guitar. So we only get to hear it in the mix, unless I missed a part?
*No clean sound demo.

It's a good idea to maybe put something at the end of the vid where you showcase just tonal qualities of whatever you are trying to demo. Unless it's just a playthrough of course smile.gif

You're right.

I've added a small commentary to complement the video, on my website: http://www.miguelbatalha.com/

Commentary text is always a good idea wink.gif For the next video (you could do another one on the JUGGS as they are very popular and folks are very curious about them), maybe include a section where you just feature the pickups by themselves. Not with a backing track, just the pickups. Here is a decent example of what I'm talking about from keith merrow. At the end of the video, he plays a brief bit just with the different types of pickups for comparison. But he doesn't talk about them really, at all, which would have been nice smile.gif
