Hey there!

If you - just like me - have been following MickeM's informative and entertaining posts about gear, then you will hopefully be happy to follow this new blog series! biggrin.gif

The first post can be found here.

I think the idea to build a guitar from scratch is awesome - I hope Micke will share some sound and video samples as well! biggrin.gif

Cool ! I'll be keeping a watch on this for sure!

I'm planning to get back to my amp building over the xmas period, I have a few clear days with no interruptions. When we are both done, maybe you can play your home made guitar through my home made amp biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Thanks! First step in this project will be to install a radiator to the 400V line in the garage. If I manage and survive that anything is possible wink.gif

Just a comment about rosewood. If I remember this right, read it somewhere...
There are two types of rosewood, from Brazil and from India.
The brazilian rosewood (which we call jakaranda in Sweden) is indeed endangered and can no longer be exported. The other one should be available, but I don't know if the indian rosewood equals the brazilian. We aren't nice to the environment and things change fast, so maybe it's all endangered now.

Yes, I learned that too from the wood-salesman. One of these charming old men who has been around for ages. You know biggrin.gif He told me Brazil pretty much chopped down everything they have and never planted any new wood. Already in the 80's their stocks on Mahogany went short mellow.gif

Instead of Rosewood I'm getting Santos Palisander (Pau Ferro?) which acousticly lies inbetween rosewood and ebony so that should work fine.
