Hi Gabe. Question regarding progression of song. It's D -A -G right. OK then why over the G are you playing a D F# A arpeggio?
Is that the bass is playing a G? And your playing a 7th F# and a ninth A sort of thing.
Otherwise I would say the progression is D -A -D.

Hi friend! Exactly, the complete chord at that point would be Gmaj7. The 9th added is just part of a melody but you could also incorporate it to the chord.
