I want to start learning solos by ear but at the moment i just get stuck and end up giving up and looking at tabs. I want some easy solos that i can start with so i can hopefully get better and do more tricky stuff any suggestions for easier solos?

Hi!! I don't know what kind of music do you like, but I think American Idiot (Green Day) have a couple of easier and great solos. Also, you can find easier solos with Adrian Smith in the first Iron Maiden's Albums.

I'll give you some links on some songs you could try on:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig-llFLnIUo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zN9vd9WUiA

These are easy solos, however - try to find songs/solos that you like, learning things that you really like will keep you motivated.

Cheers

I agree with Pablo. I am currently trying to figure out songs from their first album myself. I higly recomend you to try out songs such as Transylvania and Phantom of the opera from that album. Not only are the solos awesome, but the riffs are also great. The Transylvania riff is also, in my opinion, a good riff for increasing the stamina of in your right hand. good luck smile.gif

Try the solo from Soldier of Fortune, it is very easy, and simple harmonic backing as well.

Yeah, I remember on David O toole Pink Floyd lesson, he suggests to learn the solo by ear first. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...k-floyd-lesson/

Don't start learning easier solos for the sake of it. That's not really helping. You need to follow your instincts and if that solo is driving you nuts, then it's a drive to learn it! smile.gif
You want to practice things that will leave you feeling rewarded and satisfied smile.gif

I just posted a link to some tools that will REALLY help you. Solos are not that hard to learn, just slow it down, loop it A LOT, and learn it piece by piece.
Good luck mate!
