Hey,

You always make a very good job in your lessons "in the style of" . It really sounds like the original style and it is not just a cheap copy of existing song...

How you do that? I mean, understanding the style of other guitarists and creating your own stuff incorporating that?

I really would like to learn how to do it tongue.gif And of course I would apply that to Brazilian guitarists not known elsewhere...

Hey Gus! I don't have a method about this. I listen to a lot of music everytime and hen I do it I always have my guitar and play over the songs. I learn the chord progressions, learn some licks and listen to a lot of their stuff. I have done it for 15 years. Even when I listened to the radio I did it with my guitar, learning and jamming over the songs. A good way to star woul be trying to make variations of a band's riff or solo.
More "in the style of.." lessons are coming soon.. smile.gif
I would like to know those brazilian guitar players... What are their names?

gabriel.-

Hey, thanks for the interest. Maybe you can also create a pinned topic with good Argentinian bands/guitarists. I only know Cabezones, Cirse and Soda Estereo...

From bands singing in English, you definetely know Kiko loureiro from Angra, maybe you also know eduardo ardanuy from Dr Sin.

So here are some guys from bands singing in brazilian Portuguese:
The first name in that list is Augusto Licks. He played from 87 to 94 in Engenheiros do Hawaii. That is simply my favorite band.
This video is the first one of a show in 1991 (the link for the others are in the "about this video)

This video alone should give some idea of his versatility =D. It is not only about the solo, but every piece of the song.
I am not sure the next link will work, but if does try to see the original versions for "Refrão de Bolero" and "Exército de um Homem só I". Can't find them in youtube.

Edgard Scandurra (Ira!) has very intriguing style, because he is left handed playing normal guitar turned to other side

Herbert Vianna, from Os Paralamas do Sucesso, was very good before he had an accident. This is with a crappy VHS sound, but still:
