> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi, this is my 2nd REC submission.

This time I took on Gabriel Leopardi's Rocker Riff 2 (Level 6)

Gear: Guitar Rig 4 with Rig Kontrol 2, Garageband, Gibson Les Paul

This time my main focus was timing. Used some more patience than the last one as well, and didn't rush to record it too soon. IMHO anyway smile.gif

hey man! It's nice to find this lesson here in the REC! biggrin.gif The take is good but there are some little details in different aspects that could be improved to get a perfect take. The rhythm section is very good, but you don't look comfortable playing the fastest parts. You lose a bit the groove but it's just a matter of practice. Regarding the solo, I feel that your guitar is a bit out of tune in the higher strings. Maybe this is a calibration problem. The solos are played ok, you could make your vibrato a bit stronger but the notes and timing are ok. There is one bend out of pitch but the others are perfect. Your tone is very good. Thanks for your take.

Great take cool.gif

I agree with Gabriel about timing and vibrato. Needing to add some vibrato was the main thing that struck me when watching your take. You still played great and with attitude, but working on vibrato will give your playing more feel and impact.

I've got a series of vibrato lessons that you may find useful. Also, Marcus Lavendell has some too. If you just search our names at the top you'll get the full lists of our lessons smile.gif

nothing much to add here, besides that i really enjoyed your take, and that neck pickup on the solo, you got a lovely les paul.
