> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi again! Great to see many REC takes from you!

Your playing on this one is great. The riffs and power chords sound precise with the backing track and everything is clean and clear. As it happened with the neoclassical lesson, I think that your lead tone could sound better, warmer. Experiment with EQ.

I only note a timing issue at around 1:39, the overall sounds perfect for me.

Well done.

Again I must agree with Gabe here. You really hit it out of the park on this. These guys are no joke and trying to play their material is no small task. It's clear that you have put in the time and the effort needed to play this type of material without reaching too far. This seems well within your ability. There are a variety of techniques employed at this level of playing and you are doing a good job on all of them. Precision is key with music this complex. As you know, speed is just a byproduct of precision so the longer you play with precision, the faster you will get.

You display really effective picking, muting, fretting, vibrato, timing, and have no problems with string noise. In short, you did a very fine job on this and I think you are ready to try harder bits! If you want to join my SHRED BOOTCAMP btw, just send me a personal message!! I think you'd get a lot out of it smile.gif

Again...there's a great performance of yours. Congratulations - it's clean, with good timing and even tone from your picking hand. As said before your weak point at this moment seems to be the vibrato's pitch mentioned under other take of yours. Well done. You're really ready to challenge somethign harder smile.gif
