Paypal itself is safe, although I can't say anything for the guy on the other end of the deal. I would always do a deal in person if you can.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If you are doing a face to face deal, do it in a public place with other people around. Don't want to get robbed!

As far as Paypal is concerned...I do a LOT of business on ebay, and always use paypal to send and receive payments. I got burned by a seller one time. They never sent the item I paid for. I disputed it with paypal, and paypal refunded my money no problem. I speak very highly of them!

Yeah, it really depends on the vibe you get from the guy your sending cash to. I would definitely talk on the phone first before anything. If he's a young kid, a total rocker, or an older gent, I'm pretty sure your safe.

Really the only thing he can do is not send the item (which would really blow, cuz someone did that to me once on ebay - conker's bad fur day for xbox haha). I wouldn't worry about idenity theft or nothing with paypal.

I think the paypal is the safest option for online transactions..You can always in case of fraud dispute the payment and ask paypal to give you refund..They can do that!

I ask paypal for a refund, and they just reversed the payment, from seller's paypal to my paypal account, and then from paypal account back to my debit card smile.gif

I know that it's not possible to receive money in Bosnia from paypal, but it seems thay make exceptions for refunds, since I check my bank statement and the money was really refunded smile.gif

Also when I was buying pickups from Stan, I make a mistake in payment, so he refunded the money back and I paid again. So the refund is definatley working biggrin.gif

Paypal is great =)
I've used it a couple of times when buying stuff from other people, and never had any problems.

And from Dejan's and Praetorian's experience, it sounds pretty good if you get conned wink.gif
