I was listening to The Cure and I remembered two amazing covers of this song... I can't decide if I preffer the original, the 311 version or the Adele's version. This rarely happens to me... do you have any sample of covers that you love maybe more than the original?
which of this two version do you like more??

Wow I wouldn't mind having a beer in the second cover's pub smile.gif smile.gif

But I prefer Adele's version better, and I love the Cure.

As for amazing covers, I guess Placebo's Running up that hill is just awesome

I love the Bossa Nova feel in Adele's version. I am a sucker for that kind of stuff. Plus her voice just oozes sex in this song! It just adds to the vibe already created by the brazillian rhythms. Good choice!

+1 for the guitar solo as well!

Wow, I'm surprised nobody posted Voltaire's cover!

As much as I love the original, I find this cover better.
And if you haven't heard Voltaire before, I strongly recommend you to check out this amazing goth musician.

Johnny Cash - Hurt
Johnny's voice / tonal qualities gives this song a chilling reality that the original doesn't convey.

Excellent choice smile.gif Johnny owns this song IMO and also his take on Rusty Cage is awesome. Actually most of the covers Johnny did were brilliant, One, Personal Jesus, Thirteen etc. Love them all.

Fran love the Placebo choice as well smile.gif

Gotta go with Adele for Love Song too. She is amazing!!

I'm not a fan of when bands cover Led Zeppelin (mostly cause in my opinion they usually end up ruining it) However Heart does it some justice and for me do a pretty close to perfect cover.

heh, I am going to recycle your fav Hendrix tune here Gabriel tongue.gif

I would say Jimi owns this song, Someone once told me Bob Dylan once said Jimi was put on this earth to play his songs or something to that effect.

PS When I first saw this thread I was thinking of Tesla's Love Song biggrin.gif

Lisa Lavie does two covers that I absolutely love: Vanishing and Wild Horses
Her dynamic vocal range and control really are exceptional - some of the best vocals I've heard in terms of range. Her low vocal registers are very moving, and her vibrato control just wonderful. In a solemn mood, she can bring me to tears dry.gif - but don't tell anyone.

Vanishing

Wild Horses cover

This aint bad either biggrin.gif
