I used to have a H&K Warp Factor. It was a badass distortion pedal, but when I went from clean to distortion... it just sounded like shit. As if I started out with some jazz-stuff and then began to play some death metal
So I sold that pedal and I started using my amp's distortion.
Now, that distortion should be good, right? And quite frankly, it is good, but not for what I want to sound like. It just sounds way too twangy for me now. My Ibanez sounds like AC/DC and I don't want that. It just doesn't fit in my kind of music. I've tried everything to make it sound better (with the treble, bass, mids, presence, resonance, A/B-switch), but hasn't worked so far.
So my question for you guys is: do you think I should get another guitar? If so... (and this is going to sound really like I'm a spoiled princess or something...)
My new guitar needs a very good clean sound. I should be sweet, not twangy and I want it to give goosebumps. I want it to sound beautiful and biiiiiig. It has to have a good sustain too. When it comes to distortion... I need a very unique sound, but not unique in a way that annoys. It should have a bit of a dark, brown colour. I want my distortion to make the sound of my band complete. Like a basis. But I wanna be able to do some soloing too.
Hmm... I guess this has become a bit of a weird story. I hope you guys got through it. Thanks if you got this far reading! I hope you can help me find a new guitar
EDIT: I definately need a new guitar. My fretboard is gone, it detunes all the time, it's just not my thing anymore. Shit, feels like saying goodbye to an old friend
