Black Sabbath burn Hyde Park grass in gig announcement
Black Sabbath burn their name into the grass at Hyde Park as they are announced as the headline act for the Barclaycard British Summer Time gigs this summer

Veteran rockers Black Sabbath are to top the bill at an outdoor show at London's Hyde Park this summer.

They are the latest headline act to be announced for the British Summer Time festival and will play the opening night of the event on July 4.

The band fronted by Ozzy Osbourne and featuring Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi made a major comeback last year with a number one album and sell-out tour.

Other headliners for the event, staged from July 4 to 13, which have already been announced include Neil Young and McBusted.

Nice one dude biggrin.gif have you seen them before?

I saw them in December on their UK tour and they were just amazing. It was the best gig Ive been to. Second song in and Tony walks to the front of the stage and just starts playing 'into the void'.... I genuinely had goosebumps.
The whole show was mindblowing.

I have, I was at the very first Ozzfest! I've seen Ozzy a few times too, mainly back in the 80's/90's!!

That was the main reason I went to the first Ozzfest, it may have been the last opportunity to see the original line up of Sabbath! As it happened, Bill Ward had been ill for a while. He came out on stage and waved at the crowd but Carmine Appice actually played the show.
