The vocals and playing was pretty good imo. Though, I personally think it was a very boring song, but that does not mean its bad, its simply not my style. I think some more rythm and riff variations would have been cool smile.gif

hey robin well as you say not all music is for everyone........but your honesty is well taken...I have had alot of mixed feelings on the song so far ....some say changes are needed........some say just leave it as is cause they like the timeing and how it sounds ....some want more solos...I kind of wanted the song to be a early metal years....with a garage band feel to it much in the style of like wargasm..( they where a band in the early 80s i used to see just about every weekend in a club called the rat cellar) I found the more variations i put in the song the further away from what i was going for was getting lost... but it is still kind of a work in progress much as the other songs for the cd im working on......The cd is going to be more of a X games style for ramp skaters ,, and bikers,,,,they seems to be into under ground music around here...the true test will be leaveing a few cds at the skate park.......going back in a week or so to see who is playing it.... well thanks again for takeing a listen....and the feedback allways means alot from anyone who gives it good or bad.............
take care and see you around

Hey I liked it - I like garage indie sounds and enjoyed the sentiment laugh.gif
Plus I think its just so brave to put your own stuff out there - god I am such a chicken about that! rolleyes.gif
At the end I would not have mixed the guitar right up in the centre
and I would have had more separation on the call/response vocals ie 1 left and 1 right.
That's just me though.
Good work!

I think the song is really cool but you need to record a second take of the distorted rhythm track. You lose alot of punch in the song when you go from the clean sound to the distorted sound. What you should do is record another one and pan them out to get you a fat stereo sound. That way the lead guitar will get more space too. Now it's fighting the rhythm guitar for space. The song could also do with some shortening or alternatively some more riffs. As it is now it does not keep the listener interested all the way.

hey marcus

thanks im glad you liked it....I also like THE TIPS...recording is the easy part...mixing on the other hand im haveing a bit of trouble with ...I have 2 rhythm tracks 1 i recorded and just doubled it to anouther track...I had them paned about 75% one left and one right ....the original track was recorded in stereo...should i just pan them 100% or should i record a mono track ....and then pan them

right now the mix is set

gutiar panned............one left 75% one right the same ,,,,the bass is center...... vocals are center.. the lead i recorded a new one....................and one more to end out the song.....I panned that to the right guitars to the left and bass to the right...............with the vocals on some delay for the end verse........Im takeing everyones advice....cause i do want it to be a song that sounds good,,, but also one.that will want them to be looking for more...........I do have a bridge idea i have been fooling with maybee i will incorperate it.......and send a new take out there for you all to checks out..............but if you have any other great mixing tips im all ears lol ................
thanks again
take care john
