Anyone interested in Vito needs to check this out. This gentleman does an excellent lesson for Vito's Wait solo.

Nice solo, I like how tapping is used on it. I've never paid many attention to White Lion so I didn't know this guy.

Vito in my opinion would fall in the "underrated guitarists" category. His tapping style is more melodic in a somewhat eccentric kind of way then one would think of "tapping" in general. It's too bad he is not longer playing.... sad.gif

Yea, I was well pleased with this video... It's hard to find anything good on Vito out there anywhere. There are a couple guys on youtube that can mimic him pretty well though. I love his style. Different!

I liked Vito but as I remember he got harassed for sounding to much like Eddie Van Halen and he did sound like him but he was good with blues as well from what I remember. Really liked "all you need is rocknroll" smile.gif

There are always the haters.... I suppose in that instance we could say that Buckethead sounds too much like Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai sounds too much like Joe Satriani...... unless, they really don't. He definately took his lead from Eddie as he openly admitted, but his style didn't sound like Eddie to me, but that's one opinion of the millions.

Killer solo! I always loved that one, not so much the song though, the singer's voice has never been my cup of tea, but there is no question Vito can peal the finish off a guitar neck.

I'll have to say I'm with you there.... Mike Tramp isn't my favorite singer either, but Vito can... well could indeed tear it up.

Mark, thanks for sharing this. I remember having MTV on all the time back then (that's when they played music 24/7). I admit never paying much attention to Vito. I just listened to Wait & then an interview & felt I should share the interview.

There are NO rules in Rock & Roll!

Haha! Great comment! biggrin.gif I also loved the tapping solo he did at the end but apparently he wasn't entirely happy with it!

Nice video! Thanks for sharing. Based on the live videoclip, he was also a big fan of Malmsteen and Vinnie Moore. I like his tapping style.
