Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Steve Vai Soloing: Whitesnake Era by Jonathan Burgos

Thank you all for the feedback from my last take. Indeed, the guitar has intonation issues. I have fixed them but the issue still persists a bit. While its tuned at 0 and 12 frets, at middle points, they seem to be bit sharp or flat. I hope the tuning issues might have gone. You guys have excellent ears. :) I couldn't get a better take today, a bit messy I guess. Thanks again for your feedback.

Hi mate! The improvement on this take compared to the previous one is very big, mostly because of the intonation issue. Your guitar sounds much better now. There are still some very little timing issues in the higher frets but it's not as serious as it was in your previous take. Regarding your playing, yeah, there are some parts where you are not precise, mostly in the first phrases. But I think that you will be able to master this one after some more days of practice. Keep on the hard work!

Hello Chandra!

I agree with Gabe - indeed the intonation issues are diminished, but regarding the accuracy and timing stuff, only time well spent on this lesson will get you over the hurdle. I think you should give it some more practicing time, before re-submitting a new take. We are all human and it's not always possible to settle things so quickly smile.gif

Do we have a deal?

Cosmin

It's much much better than it was but If You have w hile please consider testing my method of tuning:

Guitar is a very nasty instrument for getting perfect tune smile.gif Sometimes it's much more efficient to trust the frets instead of trusting the open strings. Whole idea is to get best compromise for solo playing.

You did a big improvement but i bet You know there is still something more to be done smile.gif like 0:25...even Your face says "I'm not too confident about this slide" biggrin.gif
