Pete Townshend is by far my favourite rhythm player, specially on the accoustic, but he also a great lead guitarist.

Jus Oborn from Electric Wizard and Joe Hoare from Orange Goblin. Yes both of them also do some soloing as well, but there rifffs are monstrous.

Jon Schaffer I guess. Seeing him play was also quite inspiring it seemed like he's throwing riffs at the audience like bolts of lightning.
