Can anyone recommend a song that rocks hard without making all the teachers (nuns included) go crazy. Me and my friend are thinking about La Grange (ZZ Top) and Whole Lotta Love (Led Zep). Thanks in advance.

Slayer- Raining Blood
OK, maybe not. I think you've got some good choices already...maybe some Van Halen?

Fade to Black is a pretty easy song, and I don't think the nuns would get too mad about that. Or Carry On My Wayward son, that works too.

I suggest : Far beyond the sun by yngwie malmsteen..
..
no, seriously , as you said, ZZ top songs would be cool, and not to difficult,
Smells like teen spirit by nirvana, (if you wanna be sure you wont make any mistakes
)
I would personally choose "Down To Mexico" by Paul Gilbert, its a pretty easy song to play, and it sounds awesome
oh, and also maybe some metallica songs, like "Fade to black" or "one".

How about Soul To The World? Thats an awesome song
Or, try Judas Priest, Living after midnight, simple song, and a simple solo

I don't know how sensitive it is with nuns and lyrics but... "Whole lotta love" might be less a success when you come to "gonna give you every inch of my love" and they all faint. But hey, they pulled the plug on Hendrix too
The entire song is adult rated
And La Grange is about a "Mens entertainment institution" in Texas so that might not fly either
You get the words, don't want to spell em out in the forum.

If you had a bass, you could Orion. That's a great song and you wouldn't have to have a singer.

Carry on Wayward Son sounds like a good choice.... if I can listen to it in religion class, it must be clean...
Posted by: muntahunta Dec 22 2007, 12:28 AM
ORION!!! i'll come to watch you play that
carry on my wayward son... brings back memories of getting drunk with guitar hero 2

Good idea, since it's great songs both of them. We played both in my band and we had trobles betting "whole lotta love" to actually sound any good. In all it's simplicity it takes something extra to get that groovy feeling.
La Grange was easier to play and it rocks too. Maybe just change a few words

Reminds me of something someone said somewhere (I know thats not really helpful but I dont care) "All of Led Zeppelins songs are about F*****g. Even the ones about hobbits."

play the entire slayer album "god hates us all"
um well you could playsome hendrix stuff! play voodoo child followed by little wing and then play that acdc song thunderstruck! its easy and impressive!
Posted by: ZakkWylde Dec 27 2007, 01:57 PM
Enter Sandman by Metallica or Welcome to the Jungle by Guns n' roses would impress I think
Posted by: Overkiller Dec 27 2007, 02:09 PM
If you really want to scare all the moms away, play Slayer with Raining Blood.
What I would play, is Welcome Home (Sanitarium) by Metallica.
What really impresses, is Scarified by Paul Gilbert. But that's also very difficult.
