I have one smile.gif its more or less my favourite guitar at the moment, I bought it used off of ebay for something to take along to band rehearsals so if it got bashed etc then I wouldnt mind, but now its as precious as all my other guitars!

I didnt like the pickups so I changed them for a set of high output Kent Armstrongs and it totally transformed the sound of it, the prestige neck is absolutly lovely, very thin, pretty flat as well compared to some guitars and I`m able to get a very low action.

The edge pro trem is great, I especially like not having to cut off the ball ends when re stringing.

so apart from the pickups I`ve never regretted buying this without trying it first, I`d buy another one without hesitation (if one came up cheap again ofc smile.gif )

I think so, I`d pretty much made my mind up I was going to buy one "new" when I spotted mine half price, but yea, you`ll possibly not be that lucky if you need a lefty

If you're clever you go to a store and tell the guys: ''I'm going to buy three new pickups for my guitar from your store, but only if you install them for free!'' That's how I do it and it works^^

Yup, I'm the proud owner of one in Mirage Red. I changed the pickups to Dimarzio Evo2's and it's my favourite axe by far!

Some left-handed players use right-handed guitars. Jimi Hendrix & Kurt Cobain did that. Construction wise, it should be Ok to do this on electric guitars, I think things are bit different on acoustic guitars, as they need extra bracing for bass strings.

You should be Ok to play on right-handed electric guitar, unless you need whammy bars. You can save some pretty pennies. smile.gif

Look at Jimi & Kurt playing:

I tested one this friday at guitarclass as one of the other guys just bought one but i would say like everyone else throw out those stock pickups because they are thesame like those in a normal RG320 and that guitar deserves better quality pickups then crappy old ibanez pickups. Oh yeah in black it looks sweet and it plays great when set up properly.

Seems insane to me to buy a $1300 dollar guitar to have to swap pickups.

i like ibanez stock pick ups, not as much as third party ones, but still...they are not bad at all...could be the amp that makes the guitar sound bad....or maybe they arent high enough output for your tastes

the stock pups in the RG arnt terrible your right and I could have lived with them, but having changed another guitar to Kent armstong pickups and really liking them I decided to do the same to this and the result was a far better tone (for my preference smile.gif) ,

I have the S series prestige as well now and to be honest I think the pups in that (Dimarzio/Ibz) are far worse than the V7and V8 pickups, I`ve actually put that to one side at the moment till the new set I`ve ordered arrive.
