Hi to all GMC players who wanna test their funky playing abilities. Heres the backing.
THe song is in E7 at 120bpm. Good luck
i was bored so i sort of ad libbed a crappy 2nd guitar to the backing track. i made sure to make it barely audible because im self consious and i know it sucks lol
but at any rate at least i tried
il work on soloing if youre not full up on the collab, that might be a little better, i only spent like 2 minutes on the 2nd backing part
Hi Ivan,
Here's is my shot.

Funky_soloing_coffeeman_no_BT.mp3 ( 548.57K )

lol my backing is louder than i thought. and i realized it doesnt go with yours too well oohhh welll
@Joey
Don`t worry I`ll try to mix it up well.
@cofeeman
You forgot to give me the other track. You must provide a track with your guitar only, so I can mix it up properly. PLease sned only your guitar, that is a very interesting soloing you got there
Grr, I'de do it but funk is excactly my worst area....
EDIT: Oh its uploads nevermind
Hi Ivan, I`m no good at funk but wanted to give it a go, heres my effort, excellent backing track, I`ve been jamming to it all night you dont have to include it if ya dont want to, I just enjoyed doing it regardless

I'll include every one I find here, until the collab is over. So keep sending your soloing.
Smells, your recording rocks man. Really dig it.
a quick noodle job...its kinda sloppy. I've had no time to do anything lately so here is a first take hack track.
Dont be to harsh on me, this is my first upload.
Peace.
This backing track has a cool groooooove.
Okay here's my first collab upload. Having listened to the other entrants I'm some way short in my improvising skills! You guys are fantastic!
I need to find a better way of importing the backing track with Riffworks. It's ok sound quality wise but could be better.
I think you may recognise the opening riff as a nod to funky town!!
Looking forward to the feedback, constructive I'm sure
edit; I've listened to my improv a day after I've done it and I really think it's terrible compared to the others . I could do with some pointers on how to add some 'colour' to my lead work. Its an area I really struggle on.
Hey, this is my first recording I've ever posted here, hope you guys like it!
Any feed back would be nice
Thanks,
Jonathan
@fatb0t
Great effort man, but you must provide me a recording of your guitar only without the backings also in order to participate. I need only the guitar so I can mix it up properly. Can you send it please?
PS Only THREE MORE slots opened for funky soloing collab. Record them soon
No rush man, off course I'll wait for you to record a solo
I'll do my best to put one up today
Here's my take, preety messed up, especialy that last legato run which I completly failed in executing, I'll try rerecording before the collab ends, also PLEASE in the review give me some tips on my sound, I'm completely clueless what settings I should change to enhance it!
im sorry milenkovic ive been really busy with finals but im done with school til january now so i should be able to try and get something recorded for my solo tonight
Hey Iluha this is your debut into the world of recording isn't it? What kind of equipment are you using? Nice take by the way.
ill have mine up in a couple of days
Okay guys, collab open for TWO more slots (or until the 25. december)
Eh.. not really satisfied with it, it doesn't seem to go anywhere or come from anywhere but anyway:

[edit] and theres the guitar only file.
And that's all folks for this collaboration. I wanna thank all the players who participated and hope that we will do some more collabs in the future. ALl the recordings are great in their own way and I will try to put my commnents on your playing tonight along with the final mix. See ya
