Hey!

Been a bit inactive last couple of weeks, painting my house and stuff like... non-important non-guitar stuff... rolleyes.gif

Anyways, tested out some profiles from Live Ready Profiles and got a bit inspired but felt I wanted some input - should I finish this? Any input is welcome!

When listening I could easily imagine vocals as the song structure is very much there. Why not extend it to a song?

Yeah, I'm thinking about it. Don't have an overflow of vocalists standing in que though. tongue.gif So, if anyone would like to collab - you're welcome (even if the structure of the song needs to be finished first).

I gotta agree with mertay, it's just begging for vocals! Recently our very own CAEL / BEN has been doing vocals on various songs @ GMC. I"d say shoot him a PM and ask him if he is up for it smile.gif He's got a great voice and I"m sure it would turn out cool smile.gif The song is very spiff as is the tone! Could really turn in to something super spiff.

P.S. CAN"T DOWNLOAD!! sad.gif You have to enable downloads for folks to grab it and work on it.

Thanks, will do that! As for download, I will enable that, haven't used soundcloud for years... but will fix it and post a note here once done. smile.gif

It's a great draft of a song. In fact sounds more like dedicated for vocals but you can always fill it with guitar playing a theme or improvised solo - depends on what you feel is best smile.gif Anyway aside from a feeling that it's slightly overcompressed and the hi-hat is a little too harsh or just too loud in the mix smile.gif

This sounds killer man, finish it!!

I recommend you to go for a song structure and start working on lead melodies that could be sang or played with lead guitar. Recently I've been listening to a trio band called "Strawberry Girls". They are an instrumental band but they use samples, and guests for some songs. It makes their music really interesting.

Do you have experience with composition?

Thank you! It's a !quick mix' - I came up with the riff while recording a video that will showcase these Kemper profiles and well, I've had this idea for a long time that it would be super nice to compose something and use the showcased profiles on the guitars and then use this in the video. I don't always have the time for that but that's exactly what this short snippet is created for... and then I figured - maybe I should do a full song of it.

Thanks, Gabriel! Yes, just started up Cubase with this project to see what I'll do with it... I have had the exact same idea, to come up with vocal melodies through the guitar as I am no singer myself. Gotta check out that band, sounds interesting!

Yes, I have written a tune or two in my day... but they often stop at the idea stage as I have had ptroblems finding vocalists to work together with... sad.gif

Anytime smile.gif Your vocal ability has gotten really good really quick. Quicker than I've seen before actually. I think you may destined to be a killer singers as well as guitar player. I gotta say I think this track is perfect for a "Benning"! smile.gif

That could be cool. I've already tested out my vocals on it, and with some work, I think it could be cool. Do you have any lyrics in mind?

Sounds fantastic! smile.gif Haven't had time for any vocal melody (at which I mainly sucks!) or lyrics so far... all I know is that it shouldn't be titled Checken Run in the final version. (If someone missed that, it's a reference to profile pack I'm using - Fried Chicken)

The music itself certainly gave me some ideas, at least for a first verse. I'll see if I get home in time to record something today smile.gif The music reminds me of Soundgarden and similar, Chris Cornell ish. I can't quite do Cornell, but I can give it a shot.

Great! I am open for ideas, so I would love to hear what you got!! And to get a reference like Soundgarden, that's not bad... they were a BIG influence for me in the 90's so thanks! smile.gif

I think I allready have a guest for guitarparts for this track but once I get the full structure done I might have room for two. Would love to have you aboard as well ... we'll see if I can make it possible.

Well, sometime you're faster than your own shadow... had a little clean-out old projects the other day. Clean-out as in "DEL + SHIFT" to make go away and never come back. And... uhm... this project was deleted. Setting up Cubase to re-record it now. *sighs*
