Hey there GMC!
About two months ago I started with this "musical project" of mine, a song that would improve me not only as a guitarist, but also as a musician and songwriter. The song itself could maybe fit inside the genre "Technical progressive metal" or something like that and I'm playing it with my band. When I started I had really no idea what to do, or how to do it. For example, I had never before written a single bassline and just a few drumlines and I had never even dreamed about writing a song in this kind of difficult music. But as a fan of odd time signatures I started working on some ideas. Now, two months and alot of work later I have almost every part I need for the song. Note that it is far from done, for example no part has been repeated yet. Also note that I've written every single note and track completely by myself and with just a little feedback on a drumline. Due to this enormous lack of feedback and critique I now turn to all of you GMC:ers who would like to help. What I'd like you to check for: - Parts that "annoy" you in some way, maybe you don't feel the groove or such - Things that just feels "to much" ...and ofcourse, what you like and and what you DON'T like (especially this) and why. And please, please spam me with stuff to improve, remove, redo or whatever! I'll provide a GP 5.2 tab and a GP4 tab for those of you who use older versions. Thank you very much! //Kim This post has been edited by X-Ray: Jul 20 2008, 10:13 PM

That was a quite interesting piece
I really liked the arrangement and the good use of time signatures. If i were to point out a section that i think could be improved, then it's the section that starts at bar 127. Instead of using just octaves like for example: -14- -10- -x--- -x-- -12- -8-- Try this -14- -10- -10- -7-- -12- -8- Those extra added notes could give it a good push. -------------------- Guitars: Schecter Stiletto Classic, Jackson SLSMG, Ibanez RG-380 Japan, Gibson Les Paul Studio
Amp: Marshall JMP-1 -> Rocktron Velocity 100 -> Marshall JCM-900 Lead 4x12 FX and stomps: T.C Electronics G-Sharp, Korg SDD-1200, Emma Transmorgrifier, BYOC Tribooster, GGG Green Ringer, Dinosaur Overdrive, Voodoo Lab SuperFuzz, Sovtek Bassballs, Line6 Tap Tremolo, EHX Screaming Bird. ___________________________________________________ My Lessons!
