Playing with Glass!! I like it
I had my signature series "Buffed" to cut down on the chirp effect. Also the pick angle can greatly increase or decrease that. It's partly the materials being used in addition to technique involved that causes the chirping for some players. Did you try the buffed switchblade?
Also, did you ever get any vonhotch picks? I quit using the Jazz III XL after getting my first vonhotch. The way the von glided across the strings was just amazing. Switched back to the Jazz just to make sure and then put them down for good. Of course, picks are a very personal choice so not every pick is for every player. As a guy that uses an 8 string, I can tell you that the von is also the best extended range pick I"ve ever tried. My low F# used to chew up plastic picks all day. Not so when the von which is made out of aircraft grade aluminum

I remember I used to use V-Picks. I think it was something called the Screamer, but I eventually grew tired of the chirp sound they make. It's funny because people used to ask me on YouTube, are you playing with glass?
