hey guys i am aiming to buy a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier more a 2x12 Vertical Rectifier Cabinet, im just wondering if this ain't to much "overpower" for bar playing q:?
do you think is good or just a waste, because you might not push the "real" power of the amp ( that less that was what my friend told me)

If you want a Mesa and if that's the model you want then go for it.
Modern amps often sound teriffic also on lower volumes so your bar gigs should be just fine even if you can't push the amp.

If I can use a Marshall 4x12 in a bar and have it nice and loud then you can definitely buy that amp ! cool.gif

That's a great amp. Get it!

That's a great amp, if you can buy it, I don't see why not. And who says you'll use it in a bar all the time? You never know. It won't hurt to have 100W if you can have it. smile.gif

I think the new Dual RectumFryers have a half power switch, so you can play with 50 watts. I'm not sure, but I think it also might have a 20 watt switch.

I use a dual rectifier and I use it with a Marshall 1960b cabinet. I use it in both big and small gigs and it works for me. I tried it in 100w and in 50w and the difference in volume isn't too much.... but you loose some high frequencies or presence if you use in 50w.
