well, as some of you know, I am a big fan of extreme music. but I am also a big fan of Folk music, Celtic countries particularly.

so, in my country, there´s a Maestro, Xandru Reguera, from a traditional Irish group called Na Fianna.
their myspace if you want to check them out.
http://www.myspace.com/nafianna

with many tours on the Emerald Island, a long carrier and three albums among other releases, they are one of the biggest Folk bands here. since Argentina is the second country in America with Irish people it´s not a tiny thing. tongue.gif

and the awesome news are: he took me as a student a few weeks ago!!! biggrin.gif
so, you can imagine how exited I am about it!

the first class is gone last week and it was amazing.

well, I share with you some videos of the "God" on this style to help you to understand what I am studing.

with you: John Doyle!

Awwwww...bro I am JEALOUS of you!!!! Celtic music is so simple...yet so powerful at the same time! I can't wait to hear what you pick up from him!

p.s. You ever listen to Dropkick Murphys? They play a LOT of traditional Irish songs, in a modern punk style!

Sounds like a great thing Lian- and nice to see traditional céilí being played outside Ireland smile.gif. Do NA Fianna gigs also do the dances or just the music?

OT as a Corcaigh lad Na Fianna always makes me think of the GAA team first.

Great news Lian! Irish folk is a very evocative style indeed, living in merseyside we have a huge irish contingent as most of them have come in through the port of liverpool and settled here, I personally have some very good friends in Ireland, its a great country. I like Clive Carroll too, a fantastic celtic player, check him out!
