Can't tell you much about synth effect on Pandora
since I don't use it that often. It might cut the sound or it's just some settings issue, do some tweaking,I'm not sure indeed. As for power supply,you can use any adapter which has correct specs for Pandora,voltage,mA etc. But jack might be the problem, you'll need this "Sony" jack to plug it into Pandora, most of the jacks that come with regular adapters just don't fit with Pandora, silly world.
