I love this guitar my friend had it for quite some time (untill he got a JEM) and i play with it for some time. It has nice action and the stock pickups were not bad at all. wink.gif

Good review, that was an interesting guitar I have never payed any attention to before. Nice stock pickups!

Alternative Weapon: Ibanez RG Prestige(of course), Fender HH Strat with flat fingerboard

Do you mean it's way up there with Ibanez RG Prestige models?
That's of course great value for the money if someones buying the Showmaster!

Cool!

I have the Fender Showmaster Quilted Maple Top Black Cherry.

I Agree with everything in your Review.

Although if you get it with the Seymour Duncan PU's that it comes with (Seymour Duncan SH-1nRP '59 Reverse Polarity humbucker at the neck---Seymour Duncan SHPGP-1b Pearly Gates Plus humbucker at the bridge) It sounds Great for Playing Blues and Rock!! You can get Increadible Creamy Sustain (Santana like).
You Can Use those Pickups for playing Metal, with a very good distorted Amp.

Not to mention with the Pickup Configuration on the Stock pickups... if you put it in the second Pickup position on the Bridge PU, you get a Single Coil sound.

Overall I'd give it a 9/10 rating!!

and yes for $629 it's a Really good deal.
Esp. for the parts.... Basswood Body, two Seymour Duncan Pickups, 24 frets on a Set Maple Fretboard. etc.

and the Best part is... When I bought mine, the guitar shop only had 1 left, so I got it at a discount price, $499 new!
