Hi. I am brand new to this site, and am hoping someone can point me to some kind of master list of lessons. Some way of seeing them all by title, and clicking the title to get there. Otherwise, I feel like a worm crawling blind - and very slowly - through the site. Example: Beginning guitar, about the first or second page of video lessons, there is one called Finger Shifting II. The explanation is: see previous lesson, Finger Shifting I. How do I find this "previous" lesson? The search feature couldn't find it. There must be a way to get around on this site, or it wouldn't be a popular place. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Click "Video Lessons" in the menu above - just below the GuitarMasterClass.net logo.

Then you have the full list of categories.

Try the search button in the left menu bar.
"Advanced Search" gives you a lot of control as you can choose difficulty level, instructor, etc.

Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.

A search for just Finger Shifting will bring up I and II.

Thanks for the advice, but I find the "full list of categories" no way to get around quickly. I did find that each instructor has a nice complete list of his lessons, and you can view them all at once and click to get to where you want to go. MUCH better than crawling through the categories blind. I think I'll use these instructor lists as a way of navigating quickly in this site.

Yeah, The lessons by instructor is the way that I search for my lessons. As each instructor has their own style and excercises, and its the best way for me using that find lesson by instructor.

Good point, a summary list of all lessons, or lots of lessons on one page is better than 6-7 lessons on different pages. Browsing take much longer. Search option is great indeed and if you're interested in something it will definitely bring it up, but a list of lessons like 30@page could be very useful sometimes.

Clicking on instructors photo inside the lesson will bring you to the instructors presentation page that features links to all lessons by particular instructor..Also many lessons have "related lessons" tab inside them that will bring you to well related lessons smile.gif Also using search should bring you where you want..

Cheers mate smile.gif

Hello Gonefishing and welcome to GMC!

For the finger shifting lesson - you can click "related lessons" tab in the lesson and you will find the other lessons in that specific series!

To find a list of all lessons click "advanced search" without typing anything in the search field, then click "list" to the right and there you have it! (hmm we should probably make this more obvious! smile.gif )

Thats is aloy easier! Didnt see that until you mentioned it biggrin.gif

It would be great if we could choose the number of results per page though, would make browsing a little easier IMO.

One thing that I find a little disturbing, is that when I search with different criteria in advanced search.
Once I have all the lessons according to search listed, I want to listen to a lesson very quick, and then when i go back in the browser all the criteria i put in before is gone and all search fields are reset to default again.
I know I can right click and open lesson in new tab, but maybe this is something that GMC staff can fix easily?
