How do I play this sort of pattern?
--12--------12---------12-----
-----13--------13---------13---
--------14--------14--------14-
---------------------------------
----------------------------------
---------------------------------- (REPEAT)

I hope you get the idea.

Do I pick them all with one upstroke? Like every time should I return below the E string and do all the 3 in an upstroke?
Or should I do a down stroke when I go back to the low E and then only the B and the G with an upstroke?

Same question for this pattern:
--------------------------------
---------------------------------
-----------9--------9-------9---
-------10-------10------10-----
---12-------12------12--------- (repeat)
---------------------------------

Do I do them all in one downstroke? Like every time should I return above the A string and do all 3 in one downstroke?
Or should I do an upstroke when I go back to the A string and then do the D and G strings with a downstroke?

I hope this question isn't too fuzzy.
Thanks guys.

I would go for hybrid picking here
cause multiple downstrokes or upstrokes
are usually hard to play,to play it clean I mean. smile.gif

I think I would go for alternate picking, but like Muris said, it depends a little on the speed tongue.gif

On faster tempos AP is possibly better than hybrid, of course - if the player has a fast hybrid technique it is possible - why not. smile.gif

It also depends on how you want it to sound, hibryd picking is the easiest and will give you the smoothest sound, alternate will give you a more strong and even sound, and sweeping should give you something in the middle
