Hey Muris, after i saw some of your videos on your myspace i decided to ask you a few questions about your style, techniques, practise etc so if you have the time you can answer those questions and help me to become a beter musician.

Now you have pretty interesting style and in a way it suits me to now how did you accomplish it. I wanna develop my technique not in a shred way, but more in a fusion type way, wiht strong funk and blues elements. I am far from there yet, and you seems to be very there - that impression I got wathcing Mojo Oro, Hyper Cowboy, and jazzy video (from the studio). Also I noticed a few different ifnluences in your songs, but your sound is a constant everywhere. I must say that you developed your sound very well. I can even hear Muris signature sound on the acoustics as well as on the electrics. ` Now the questions are:

1. How did you came to you style?
2. What practises did you do when you were younger to get from point A to B?
3. What systems did you use?
4. Did you do sepparate practise for 1&1/2 step scales and then do hromatic scales or what? Tell us about the scales you like to use the most.
5. what music inspired you to develop your fusion style playing?
6. How did the Mojo Oro song came to be?

And finally, when i saw that jazzy impro i think that is really cool style to play. I definately wanna play something similar and develop my techniques in similar musical directions. Any tips and advices how to get there quickly besides practise practise etc.. smile.gif

Thanks man, i hope it is not too much a bother to answer all this questions. Greets!

+1 on that.

I would guess when someone as good as Wallimann wants to hear what you have to say it must make you feel pretty good inside? I know if I were to ever reach the level of guitar playing that you two have I would feel pretty good about myself and the time I've invested.

Thanks for the kind words Ivan, glad you like what I do! smile.gif

I'll try to answer the best here tho I haven't thought that much of these things, honestly.

1. Not sure if I can describe my style but it's surely mix of my many influences
plus maybe a small piece of me.
Basicly I have played many things that I like and naturally lots of it stays in my hand today.

2.I just played, tried to learn solos/tunes from old tape recorder, that's all I can say. smile.gif
Thank God I had much of motivation so I didn't stop until I get it,all by ear.
And that involved more time which means more playing/practicing. smile.gif

3.Not sure of what systems you think of,lats say pure playing once more.

4.Again similar answer, never thought about it that much,I just listened to something and tried to get it,
many times without knowing the key I'm in,pure beginner laugh.gif
And scales, well lots of them, can put few on the side, depends of style I'm currently etc,
so lets say chromatic cause all scales are inside. wink.gif

5.As the name says, fusion is mix once more, tho it's mostly used for fusion of rock and jazz.
Dunno,I like many stuff indeed, from Reinhardt to Mustain or Darrel. biggrin.gif

6. Mojo Oro...I made the basic idea it somewhere in 99-2000 if I recall correct,
I had prog-rock bend so it fitted nicely.
Influenced the most by Balkan's grooves and melodies tho it's more heavy than Balkan is wink.gif
Later on I did few readjustment and putted it on my debut album.

Hope I made it and thanks for asking Ivan, appreciate it!! smile.gif
