Man, after listening to the takes that have been uploaded, don't think I was very smooth. Think I may have lost the idea. blink.gif

Guys, the more I listen to this style, the more i'm intrigued. Been jammin the Soft Jazz station on my cable network and there are some really good jazz guitarists out there. Just to name a few, Russ Freeman (Ringintons), Craig Chaquica, and I'm really liking Marc Antoine.

I'll give it a try smile.gif
Can you tell us the chord progression ? smile.gif

There's no real chord progression here..
Just a steady bass riff playing over over a C min 7 riff. The chords in the background are just triads type chords that are taken from harmonizing a C Dorian scale.

Just play the C Dorian scale and you'll be good to go!
C Minor pentatonic will also work on this :-)

Nice job! You have popped your cherry. laugh.gif

I liked the feel and groove you have. Your use of chromatics was nice. Excellent job!

At the very end the tone with more gain didn't seem to fit and the last note kind of hurt my ears. Maybe it's just my crappy speakers or me though.

Other than that (which is just a very small nit picky thing) I think you did great.

Well done. Now I can go to bed. smile.gif

Thanks a lot rolleyes.gif

The tone might be a bit agressive. My Vox AD30VT doesn't deliver good higher gain sounds via the recording out so I tweaked it with VST effects. Might be too much. My monitor speakers are M-Audio studiopro 3 and they are just ok. It sounds good with them so I kept the recording. It was one take and I tried it 3 times. The one I took was the first take.
Other than adding compressor and chorus I didn't edit anything.

Whoops, I forgot about this puppy, I can try to get something up by the first of the week. I will be past the deadline so no hard feelings if you need to move forward. Sorry man, your callabs are my favorites, but I bombed on this one.
