Hello there! This is an attempt to enourage you to do som more lessons with your Epiphone Chet atkins model! I totally loved your first lesson when you played with it, the "acoustic fingerpicking" lesson and I really would appreciate if you could do another lesson using that guitar smile.gif I recently recorded me playing that song so I thought I would post that to and maybe get some advices and hear what you think about it smile.gif

Hey,that was a fine take,thanks! smile.gif

I can see you have some issues to hold on the grip,
few notes are missing(dumpened) and specially middle part with harmonics.
Try not to mute strings with index finger while playing that part,
on Em it's not the problem but be careful on G chord.
Needs bit more practicing but overally you're doing great, thumbs up!! smile.gif

Will do more of these lessons btw. wink.gif

yeah, I was struggling with those harmonics. It's just so easy to get harmonics from the 12th fret but quite alot harder from the others! And thanks for the feedback Muris!

You're welcome!

Just center finger right above fret(metal part) and try adding more highs to your sound. wink.gif

Cool. That kinda answers my question. I noticed earlier you had the Epiphone Chet Atkins listed as one of your (or most) favourite guitars and was wondering which lessons here on GMC feature that guitar? Just curious as to the possibilities and what context it could fit well in? I saw it mainly as an accompaniment say in an intro/interlude for instance. An example always helps in establishing this context. Hence, I thought to do a search right here in the video lesson archive.

I have had the guitar for many years now but can honestly say I have never really played it. When I bought it, I was just fascinated with the idea. Nylon feel. Electric body. My initial impression was the usual I have with any piezo ... the sound ... just doesn't sit well with my ears. As I play, I can't force ideas out of mind as to what a nylon acoustic, in comparison, tends toward being ... smooth, natural etc. Therefore, the poor girl just sits there in its case all lonesome like.

I will have to check that lesson out. Might be a worthy candidate for inclusion into the what is a continually burgeoning practise schedule! biggrin.gif

Spot on, this guitar is REALLY gentle and soft,
you can't use it for slapping and rocking just like that!! smile.gif
I think I have only one lesson with it on GMC and here it is.
