GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Bass Lessons

Here's one topic for bass lesson discussion, it would be much easier for you to ask and me to answer all the questions or discussions when we have one topic for itself.
So the lesson 4 is up. I have a question for you!
What kind of lessons do you want next?
Maybe some really hard slap?
Maybe you want me to get back to basic slap, show you something more easier?
Something else? Thank you!

Well Just a thought but as seen in the regular solo section for electric guitar, kris does styles of famous guitar players such as kirk, slash, johnson . etc etc etc. Anways hows about you maybe do one more lesson on some hard slapping and then maybe a specific lesson on a Bass God of your choice. Just a thought

Ok, will try to do something, I know you are expecting Flea but I don't really like him, and haven't even played much of his songs, so I will hardly do some of Flea style exercises, probably some other bass players style.

Hrvoje: Great idea to start this thread! smile.gif

I don't think you should pick a style of a bassist which you don't like...! Perhaps you can let us know what styles/bassist-styles you master - so that people can pick n choose! biggrin.gif

Hints and tips on playing a 5 String?

Posted by: Hrvoje Mar 11 2007, 12:36 AM

Les Claypool will be great, I really like him,
I can do some crazy stuff like Primus, soon enough!

I'm sorry but I do not own a 5 string bass so I can't work nothing about that.
But I am planning to buy 6 string in a few months.
The equipment is really really expensive here in Croatia, so I have to save some money, a lots of money wink.gif
I need 1100$ for some 6 string I would like to have

Les Claypool and Primus are my biggest inspirations, there is non other bass player or band I like more, maybe I will remember one later, my mind doesn't work best at this moment, but I will surely let you know,..
And another thing: I didn't say I don't like Flea, he's great, but maybe I didn't listened to him enough to make a lesson about his playing, but I will make some research smile.gif

I would like to see some advanced Jaco, Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten and Jeff Berlin - I can think of a lot I would love but mainly I'm interested in advanced soloing.
