Hey Kris,

I've been locked in the forums pretty much all day, and chasing links like Best Practise, metronome software and so on - I'm always beside a computer, so software is a big part of what I do...

It just dawned on me that it's a shame that good links, such as Best Practise and audiacity are lost in the depths of time...

How about a stickied 'Software Reccomended by GMCers" thread? All legal of course! And with a disclaimer to say that you are NOT responsible for the software the posts link to...

Watcha think?

I think it sounds like a good idea! Maybe you could start a thread where you give some example softwares - and I'll sticky it and we'll see what happens. smile.gif

My Favorite program right now is Band in A Box 2006 which allows you to type in a few chords and it will create a whole backing track based upon it with instrument variations, and even allows audio recording of a guitar track . It has hundreds of styles that changes the feel of the song with a mouse click(country to 60s rock), and will transpose the key if you want. Extremely powerful if you really want to get into it, I only have touched on the basics, but I love it to noodle with the guitar. It also allows import of Midi files(songs) and you can add sounds etc. www.pgmusic.com Large user base on the website and addons

My favorite recording program is Traction 2(Now sold by Mackie ) its much simpler than most of the other big ones(Cakewalk, Cubase, etc) and just as powerful, but more logically laid out www.mackie.com

This thread will not get stickied in this board. When we get more valuable threads with lots of good links we will sticky them all and gather them on a new board.
