Posted by: skennington Oct 12 2008, 05:10 PM

Looks like Guitar World and Guitar Center have teamed up to promote another contest. Thought I would post in case some of our shredders here missed it.

Runs through Oct. 31 and is based on a voting system. Looks like alot of other cool prizes also.... cool.gif

I am thinking what to play. Maybe I would submit one of my lessons but I don't think I am allowed. Maybe I'll need to come up with sometihng else.

thank you. I will decide tomorrow what to do for this competition

Interesting, maybe I'll enter, I have to think of what to play. Anyone else entering?

Posted by: David Wallimann Oct 12 2008, 08:39 PM

Sure, I'll do it too if I can!

Posted by: skennington Oct 12 2008, 08:58 PM

I was hoping you guys would jump in it, I think all of you have a great chance of winning! smile.gif Maybe in a few years I'll be able to enter one of these things.. laugh.gif ...bows head and goes back to practicing with positive thoughts... laugh.gif

I've seen these guys with the most votes. I wasn't very impressed so I think that someone from GMC has a great chance of wining. It looks like all friends and family are voting for those guys already on the site. Their parrents, uncles and male relatives must have done a great job if one of those kids that knows 3 scales has over 300 votes by now smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif By saying "great job" I don't mean they voted smile.gif I am kidding of course but you got my point.

Yes, the leading guy is just playing a lot of licks that don't fit together, so if you make something like the lessons you've done this wouldn't be too hard smile.gif

Posted by: opeth.db Oct 12 2008, 10:02 PM

You got my vote Emir! smile.gif

Posted by: Jose Mena Oct 12 2008, 10:29 PM

I am away from a guitar right now, I already have an idea on what to do. I need to sit down with the guitar and see if I actually can do it.

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Oct 13 2008, 02:56 PM

10000 is a nice money, and little job is needed. If I knew to shred well I would definitely apply. wink.gif

Posted by: RIP Dime Oct 13 2008, 03:10 PM

Wow, that dude with 404 votes....ughhhh. He must have lots of friends. As seen with the Dean Shredder contest, most are just playing one technique after the other as fast as they can. rolleyes.gif

Posted by: DeepRoots Oct 13 2008, 03:13 PM

I've seen soo many internet guitar competitions lately ohmy.gif As if they appeared from nowhere this year or something.

As usual you can count on our votes!

Posted by: Bogdan Radovic Oct 13 2008, 07:21 PM

Well I think you guys Emir , David, Jose and any GMC instructor should enter definitely because you really stand a chance at wining since you are best of the best!! Also I'm pretty sure some judging/overlooking will take part from organizers (in order not to award the weak contestant for just having loads of friends!).Good luck!!

I really hate it when people shreds without backingtrack it sounds like ther just playing random notes and it is not very musical.....

Give it a go guys you got our support

Emir, Jose, David! Go for it, you have my vote.

That makes me weary about entering though lol

Posted by: OrganisedConfusion Oct 14 2008, 10:24 AM

Everybody should enter lol. I will shred my fastest which is incredibly slow biggrin.gif

Posted by: Emir Hot Oct 14 2008, 11:30 AM

I have decided. You guys go for it and you have all my support smile.gif

I really don't have time for this right now. Maybe I will go for the the next one. There are many competitions these days and I'll prepare something cool on time.

good luck to anyone who decides to go for this.

Posted by: Ignite Oct 14 2008, 04:09 PM

Yeah, uh, I looked at a few of the top videos... ew... that was pretty bad, i'm sure most shreders here at GMC can beat that.

Posted by: Trond Vold Oct 14 2008, 06:33 PM

Looks like a cool contest and I would enter if i had any shredding skills smile.gif Hope to see some other GMC instructors enter though smile.gif

Pretty cool use of classical tremolo technique to electric guitar smile.gif Really fun technique...Today's Vinod's lesson feature that technique http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/misc-lessons/recuerdos-de-la-alhambra-1-3/ smile.gif)
