GMC Forum _ Recording _ Drum Program For Recording

Posted by: wheeler Apr 18 2007, 06:13 PM

Hello all
Looking for a good drum program (software) to record with...the name EZ Drummer pops up pretty frequently....I'd like it to sound at least relatively realistic, and be versatile enough to do everything from jazz brushes to death metal blast beats....any input/suggestions (besides 'man up, join a band and get a real drummer' biggrin.gif )?

Oh, and I'm using Cakewalk's Sonar Home Studio for PC.

Thanks y'all

I would suggest you the XLN Addictive Drums - they are much better than EZ Drummer!

Hey Pavel - I have EZDrummer and like it - how is XLN better? I'm always looking for ways to improve my setup smile.gif

I use EZ drummer. I like it a lot. You can check the sounds on my lesson Metalhead. All the drums are from EZ drummer...

Addictive Drums are much more customizeable - you can create your own sound for each element, you have loads of options, equalizer, pitch, compressor and a lot more stuff, a lot more drum kits, different elements.... it is definitely better than EZ because i tried EZ and than got myself XLN and the difference is huge.

Here is the link you all should check! And listen to those samples below!

BUT - even what you hear - is nothing comparing to what you can do with the program and how you can set up your own kit!

Enjoy it!

OK, Walliman - EZ Drummer sounds KILLER on your Metalhead lesson....and Pavel, the samples on the Addictive Drum website are also amazing - VERY realistic. I guess it's research time....when I get out of work, I'll look a little more in-depth at features, interface/ease of use, etc....thanks both for the input!! I'm dying to lay down some drum tracks on some songs, post 'em up, and put myself at the mercy of GMC'ers worldwide.
