Hey guys!

I was wondering... I know the reason for using an FX loop, I guess. I mean, it's to make sure you get a delay after the preamp's distortion for instance, isn't it? Now I wondered, I have a nice Fender reverb pedal. If I need to play on an amp without an FX loop, how can I make sure it still sounds? I also sometimes use a DS-1, can I use that without fx loop as well?

Kaz

A distortion pedal usually goes before the amp input, so thats alright.
A reverb will sound good before the amp, as long as it is after the distortion pedal. So if you dont have an FX loop, you can use the reverb perfectly fine before the amp, but after the distortion pedal smile.gif

In other words, you can with perfect results use both pedals before the amp input, but putting the reverb before distortion (like amp distortion) will not sound good. You are free to try of course smile.gif

When I'd use the DS-1 as overdrive, and use the amp's distortion, there's now way to get a good reverb sound?

it's simple Kaz, if your amp is distorting, and you put reverb in front, it will distort the reverb too. Now, if the distortion on the amp is not big, reverb can pass to some extent. Just be careful. I suggest you experiment a bit and see how much of the reverb you can achieve and make it sound nice, with how much preamp distortion.

As far as DS1 goes, put it in front of the reverb and it will not affect the quality of it in any way.

What amp is that btw?

Reverb usually goes after distortion. So if you are using distortion from the amp, and it has no FX Loop, then no.
But as Ivan said, it depends on the amount of distortion you want. Just a bit works fine, because the reverb will not be that much distorted. But put the reverb after the DS in that example smile.gif

If you are only using one of them at the same time though, you can turn off the reverb when you use the amp, and turn on the reverb when you are using the DS pedal. Itll be some tap dancing though biggrin.gif

It's during band rehearsels. Sometimes I use a Peavey Classic, other times a Peavey Valve King. Last time I wasn't able to use the Classic's FX loop, if it even has one smile.gif

It has one, it's in the front, those two jacks on the left upper side:

one says IN, other OUT, something like preamp out (send), poweramp in (return).

Plug the input of a reverb preamp out, and output of a reverb into poweramp in. It should work.
